Experience

Since 2004 she has been an examiner of trade marks for the  Mexican patent office IMPI until joining Herrero & Asociados. She has also worked for the Secretaría Técnica del Consejo Técnico de Humanidades, an administrative body of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México

Rita possesses ample experience in teaching: she has, inter alia, given different courses at WIPO, such as the seminar “Introduction to the UPOV System of Plant Variety Protection” and the classes “General Training in Industrial Property”.

She has taught a class called “Advice for international protection of trademarks and domain names” at ExperTraining Seminarios de Mejores Prácticas as well as a training course on industrial property at the Instituto de la Judicatura Federal, in cooperation with IMPI

Being a fellow of the faculty of Law at Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, Rita holds the chair of Juridical Practice in Intellectual Property

She formerly held the chair of Intellectual Property at the same university and, previously, the chair of Industrial Property at the faculty of law of Barra Nacional de Abogados, the Mexican bar council

Early on at Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México she had held the chair of Property and In Rem Rights.
