Experience
Juan Casulá joined Herrero & Asociados in 1992.
He is a lawyer specializing in Procedural and Industrial Property Law. He manages and coordinates lawsuits on patents, trade marks, unfair competition, advertising, intellectual Property and related rights, in Spain and abroad.
He also deals with the processing of files before the National Anti-trust Commission, the Spanish Advertising Self-regulation body, Customs Administration, the Office of Harmonization for the Internal Market as well as the Spanish Patent and Trade Mark Office.
In parallel, he conducts negotiations for his clients and prepares all kinds of contracts, most often patent or trade mark licence agreements, technology transfer deals, non-disclosure and confidentiality agreements, coexistence agreements, distribution and franchise contracts and intellectual property assignments.
He has chaired the AIPPI workgroup “Question Q168 – Use of a mark as a legal requirement for the acquisition, maintenance and infringement of rights”.
Juan has given lectures in various courses, workshops and institutions (AIPPI; the academy for legal practice "Escuela de Práctica Jurídica Colex", the Official State Gazette and the Directorate-General of Customs).
He has authored articles on industrial and intellectual Property, anti-trust law, Community trade marks, published in such places as the magazine La Opinión, the newspaper Expansión and the online newpaper “Diario Juridico.com”.
